Crombie Brings Energy and Vision to Mississauga Mayoral Debate

Parrish defends sitting behind her desk as Crombie offers plans to get Mississauga moving

MISSISSAUGA — Bonnie Crombie outlined an energetic, forward-looking vision to cut congestion, improve community safety and make life more affordable at today’s CBC and Mississauga Board of Trade mayoral debate.

Crombie highlighted Mississauga Moves 2.0, including a proposed subway extension and an integrated regional transit network; her community safety plan combining policing, prevention and community support; and her commitment to affordability through fiscal discipline.

“Carolyn Parrish walked away from the police services board, abdicating her responsibility to help lead on community safety. She refuses to meet with the Prime Minister and tells residents, ‘I sit behind my desk’. And today she rejected the subway Mississauga deserves. That’s unacceptable,” said Crombie. “Mississauga needs a mayor who shows up, outlines a vision for the future and delivers results. I will bring that energy and leadership back to the mayor’s office.”

Crombie contrasted Parrish’s approach with her detailed plans and record of securing investment for Mississauga.

“I’m seeking a mandate to deliver less time in traffic, safer neighbourhoods and responsible taxes,” said Crombie. “A future you can afford, with experience you can trust.”
