Bonnie Crombie Now Leads in Mississauga Mayoral Race

MISSISSAUGA — After a summer-long dead heat, Bonnie Crombie has pulled ahead of incumbent Mayor Carolyn Parrish as the campaign enters its final weeks.

The latest Mainstreet Research poll puts Crombie at 30.4 per cent, ahead of Parrish at 27.6 per cent among decided voters. No other candidate comes close.

The result marks a shift in a race that has been effectively tied for months. In August, Liaison Strategies had Crombie and Parrish tied. In September, Pallas Data described the contest between the two former mayors as a “genuine two-way” race.

Today, Bonnie has a narrow lead. She is the only one who can bring change to the Mayor’s Office.

This campaign has been building momentum all summer because Bonnie is talking about the things Mississauga residents care about: making life more affordable by keeping taxes low, supporting our first responders to make our communities safe and getting the city moving again with a subway extension.

Now, with advance voting about to begin, the latest poll has Bonnie ahead of the incumbent. We know this race will be close, and we are taking absolutely nothing for granted. Bonnie and our team will keep working for every vote, in every neighbourhood, right through to October 26.
